When I'm out and about and maybe taking outfit photos, I don't want to have the same outfit in every photo. Especially when the background changes, for example a day of wandering around where I find a lot of cute spots for photos. That's why, when I go in with the intention of taking photos, I pack in layers so that I have multiple outfits. This might sounds insane, but it makes sense to me! Each layer is a new outfit and all layers together are a nice outfit as well.
Here's how I did that recently, when I went wall hunting with my brother and we explored some fun murals in the city. If you want to watch the vlog of our day, watch it here, and I also wrote a blog about all the murals that we saw and where you can find them and you can read that here.
Now, let's get to this day of multiple outfits.
I styled the following:
Off white coloured jeans from Joe Fresh | I found a similar pair at Aritzia but Pretty Little Thing, Nasty Gal, and other stores probably have white/off white jeans as well!
Chunky white sneakers from TopShop | not the ones I have, but here's a similar pair I found on TopShop's website
Coat from TopShop | I've had this one for 4+ years and I couldn't find a similar one online, but Aritzia is known for their sleek, good quality, stylish coats so here's a link to their jackets & coats. I don't own any of theirs, and I wanted to shop their COVID sale but I can't find my size in their jackets.
Under the coat is a 3-layer combo: I'm wearing a white hoodie from TopShop that I cropped at home one day when I got bored. I could not find the same one I bought, but I found a similar one from TopMan that you can buy and crop at home! I wore an over sized men's white T-Shirt from Walmart under that you can shop here, and finally, my last layer was a sheer cropped shirt from TopShop (I can't find find this top or a similar one. I purchased it on clearance a few months ago)
Accessories: a vintage bag that my grandpa gifted to me.
OUTFIT 1: WEARING ALL YOUR LAYERS
In this look I wore all of the above and kept my coat on which changes the whole outfit and is a very professional-street style chic look to me. One outfit down, 3 to go...
OUTFIT 2: IT'S TIME TO START STRIPPING
Now that I took photos with my coat on, it was time to take off some of the layers. With the coat off, I was left with the hoodie layered with my oversized T Shirt. I didn't know if this would look good, the whole baggy look isn't my thing usually, but I really liked it.
OUTFIT 3: OUTERWEAR IS COMING OFF, TIME FOR THE LAST 2 LEWKS
Next up, I was willing to risk getting a little cold to snap some pics. This men's t shirt is way too oversized and doesn't quite look best on its own, so it's a great prop to use for posing because I was able to tug/pull on it to spice up the posing a bit.
OUTFIT 4: MY LAST FORM OF THE DAY
Coat, hoodie, and T Shirt OFF and it's time for my last form of the day. After taking off all those layers, I'm left with my final outfit. This cute sheer top from TopShop is one of my favourites. It's easy to style with any bottoms, both jeans and trousers.
Overall, planning multiple outfits in one day is made easy when wearing a monochromatic outfit. Lately, I've really been feeling the all-white colour scheme because it looks sleek and clean on its own and it is so easy to pair with more colours/patterns if you want. The monochromatic colour scheme also goes well with any background, so it makes taking photos even easier!
You might still think it's a little crazy to dress in so many layers for photos, but why not! In the summer, when it's harder to layer, you can put a shirt under your dress/tank top, or bring an extra top to pair with whatever bottoms you're wearing especially if it's a top that can easily fit in your bag.
All I'm saying is, it's super doable and fun to have a variety of outfits all in one if you're going to be out all day and potentially taking pics in different places.
With that said, thanks for coming by and reading my blog!
Until next time, be exxtraaa and bring all the outfits you want and need and have fun taking pics!
